Zayed International Airport marks a significant milestone in the architectural landscape of Abu Dhabi, and – for Brash – another globally iconic building brand launch.
Showcasing a stunning design by renowned architects Kohn Pedersen Fox, that draws inspiration from the region’s natural wonders – particularly its undulating desert sand dunes – the airport’s unique shape and form evoke a sense of harmony with surroundings.
Just as this physical form embodies the aesthetic beauty of the desert, the design philosophy also symbolises the cultural heritage and values of Abu Dhabi, and stands as a testament to their enduring legacy. At the core lies an ethos of ‘The Heritage of Hospitality’. This reflects local traditions – warmly welcoming guests, fostering connections with others – through an environment and experience designed to conjure warmth, openness and inclusivity.
Every aspect of Zayed International Airport, from its spacious terminals to its welcoming lounges, is meticulously crafted to enhance the passenger experience and promote a sense of belonging. As travellers pass through its gates, they are greeted not only by state-of-the-art facilities but also by a genuine spirit of hospitality. The airport serves as more than just a transportation hub; it is a symbol of Abu Dhabi’s commitment to hospitality, its dedication to forging meaningful connections with people from all walks of life, and its unwavering commitment to making every visitor feel at home.
Brash developed the brand’s look and feel, encapsulating this in a brand book and visual guides to ensure excellence across all elements of the experience: online, offline, uniform, livery and more. We also worked with the team to extend the identity system across the full Abu Dhabi Airports portfolio of five airports,
With Sheikh Zayed being so instrumental to Abu Dhabi and the nation’s formation, it’s an honour to have worked on this project, and to now add it to our portfolio of global icons.
