Marina Di Pisa

The New Mediterranean Destination in Tuscany

Following our work with the Marina Development Corporation, bringing to life ‘the Art of Mediterranean Living’ through their first regeneration project and destination; ‘Marina di Ventimiglia’, Brash was asked to extend its approach and brand development work to include a new seaside destination located at the Marina di Pisa.

Approach

To preserve the integrity of the brand and ensure authenticity without compromising on comfort and luxury, we conducted research to explore historic and cultural characteristics of relevant meaning and arrived at ‘Villa Rondini’, which translates to ‘the house of the swallows’, a central feature of the large urban regeneration site.

Swallows (Rondini) symbolise new life and a fresh start which, for the brand name, communicates the regenerative nature of the new premium integrated lifestyle destination. In addition, Villa Rondini had been the home of the notorious late Italian actress Eleonore Duse, who, over a long period of time, filled the place with rich stories and anecdotes. Something we aim and hope to inspire with the destination’s future residents and guests.

Solution

Whilst the visual system had already been defined through the work of Marina di Ventimiglia, ensuring a coherent and distinctive brand language throughout, it was imperative to find a bespoke articulation of The Villa Rondini brand, celebrating its local heritage through unique historic and cultural assets. The marina destination has carefully considered and integrated key pillars such as innovation, sustainability and greenery to ensure its relevance in today’s modern world.

Outcome

With a clear vision and a strong brand, the destination has started to take shape with the highly complex conservatory recovery intervention work of the historic Villa Romboli (previously Villa Rondini) now completed. In addition, the building permit for the first phase of 38 prestigious apartments has already been filed at the Municipality, with a premium Club named ‘Il Fortino’, in memory of the original building that once stood there, is planned to compliment the new tourist destination of allure and elegance, bringing authentic Mediterranean living to a new Tuscany.
